As Salaamu Alaikum Ya’ll! Have you heard? There’s a whole new community for this project! In the past, we have always hosted this project in two places, my Creative Motivations website and the Facebook Group. Unfortunately, I lost my site and most my back-ups, so much of the content was lost, and I’ve started over with a new site dedicated only to the project. With members numbering over 7,000 in the FB group, it may be tough to transition to the new site, but I urge you to do so.
The 99namesproject.org website has a brand new community at forum.99namesproject.org! Membership is completely free right now and the community will be the main space where we engage and discuss the lessons, quizzes, and reflections each day. So to answer a few obvious questions…
Why make the switch? Many people have gotten off of Facebook these days due to privacy concerns and I didn’t want those individuals to be left out of the valuable discussions we share in the group. Hosting our own little 99 Names Social Network seemed like the best alternative, where you can do all the same actions and engagements as Facebook (commenting, sharing media, making friends, liking posts, etc)
Will you still be on Facebook? There is a FB Feed here on the site that will show a feed of the FB Group for those curious about what’s happening in the old group. I will set up an automatic feed to post the daily posts in the group, but convos will be on the Community forum instead. Individuals are free to discuss in the FB group, but I won’t personally be as engaged.
Does it cost anything? The 99 Names Project is a free annual project I run each year, I have never charged to participate in the program. However, both the site and the forum are expenisive to run and take 10+ hours per week to manage, but for now it is completely free to you, al hamdulillah. If Allah sustains me, then I will sustain the site and forum to the best of my abilities. When financial situations change, I have to maintain other priorities such as my family, health, etc. so I want to be completely transparent. I love this project with my whole heart and will do everything I can to keep it running for years to come, insha’Allah.
How can I help support? First and foremost, keep me and my family in your duaa. Secondly, spread the word, invite others to participate and share in the reward. Thirdly, I invite you to donate to support the project. Funds go to the monthly maintenance of the site and the development of new features like the Tariq Teaches (kids version) I am hoping to launched in 2023!
